Review
One thing about me recently is that I am a huge zombie movie fan. And what is most important to me is a seemingly realistic creation and spread of the virus. I believe the writers and directors of this series did an excellent job of writing the backstory of the virus and depicting an apocalyptic reality. I loved the heartfelt scenes which gave a great contrast to the series' horror, as well as, the romance incorporated.
Unfortunately, I do believe the main female lead, On-Jo, could have been written better. She significantly contributed to the team's survival, however, it would have been great to see her more active and impressive in the action scenes. Some viewers stated that her character was very realistic which I do agree with, however, I still believe she could've reacted better to fight off the undead.
A character I also would really like to comment on is Na-yeon. I truly loved seeing this side of actress, You-mi, after seeing her in 'Squid Game'. I loved her character development and I just sincerely believe that she is a character you love to hate. You-mi did an excellent job of making viewers hate her and then sympathizing with her.
In an interview, the scriptwriter stated that he had put a lot of thought and details into each character's backstory and I would've loved to get to know more about Nam-ra, Na-yeon and Su-hyeok, my favourite characters!
Overall, the cast was excellent along with their chemistry. Some scenes really had you holding your breath and flinching at jump scenes. I will surely be looking forward to a second season, fingers crossed!
