Review

After a short break from romance Korean dramas, Extraordinary You sucks you into its fantasy world of a cheerful main character, three moody popular boys and a mysterious and quiet unnamed character.

In the beginning, this seems like a light-hearted show, however, as it progresses, the themes become darker and evoke empathy for characters. Towards the end, it is an emotional show, however, it does leave you contented and with a yearning to watch more.

Spoiler Review

From watching this show, I believe Hye Yoon and Rowoon did an excellent job of portraying their characters as it appeared to be very natural for them. I am aware there are disputes over whether Jae Wook's character is likeable or otherwise, however, in my opinion, he was not the best choice in this love triangle as throughout the show he mistreated Dan Oh and realized his feelings too late. Plus, towards the end, his decision to 'reset' Dan Oh was selfish. Although I do believe his character was toxic, I must appreciate the representation of morally grey characters. No one can be perfect, right?

This show was a great binge. I wished I slowly watched it so I would not be so forgetful presently of all the things I enjoyed. It was both a tear-jerker and a heart warmer, so I must recommend it.
