Review

I know that I say this every time, but I really wish that I could watch this drama for the first time again. I believe that Lee Joon Gi's acting was top tier in this piece of his. I thoroughly enjoyed how he portrayed his character and how visible his thoughts and emotions were throughout the episodes and situations he faced. The plot is slightly complex but not to the point that it seems frustrating. Their relationship was great, I believe both actors did a fantastic job of making you doubt the main character and force you into emotional turmoil.

Spoiler Review

What struck me most of all was seeing the difference in the portrayal of Antisocial Personality Disorder and a Psychopath. I really enjoyed how they showed how Hee Sung was mentally and verbally abused throughout his childhood because people did not understand his personality disorder. They made him believe he was a killer and that he was a demon and these are issues I have never been exposed to before but I think are so important to discuss now.

Furthermore, what struck me was he did not believe he could fall in love. He did not know that he was in love with Ji Won because he thought it was a whole manipulation act. I just wanted to hug him due to all the trauma he went through, how much he believed the worst of himself and how selfless he was.

Till today, I am not sure how I feel about the ending. However, I am open to the possibility that his memory loss saves him from the guilt he would have accumulated over the years of his marriage and fatherhood. It was a new start for him and I truly believed he really deserved it.
